The Superior Court has ordered the cremation of one of three persons who were killed in a vehicular accident along Beach Road in Chalan Laulau last month.

Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona allowed Ada’s Mortuary in Guam to cremate the body of Wang Tongyang following the request of Wang’s parents.

Shi Yicheng, through counsel Richard W. Pierce, filed in court a petition for cremation after the Ada’s Mortuary informed them that a court’s order is required to do so.

Pierce said Shi was sent to Saipan by Wang’s parents, Wang Jingyou and Hong Zoufang, of Hanan Province, China, to deal with problems associated with Wang’s death.

Shi is the son-in-law of the parents, Pierce said, adding that the family wishes to cremate the body.

Wang, 26, was a sewer for Rifu Apparel Corp.

Police said Wang and his passengers—Bao Hus Su and Chen Xuan Li—were killed when their car collided with a pick-up truck in the early morning of Nov. 27.

Investigators said the three suffered severe injuries to the head and body and were pronounced dead on that same day at the Commonwealth Health Center.

Police said Wang violated a provision of the Commonwealth Code that prohibits anyone from operating “any vehicle or bicycle upon any highway which has been divided into two or more lanes by means of intermittent barriers.”

Traffic investigators determined that speed was the factor of the accident and not alcohol.

Injured was 66-year-old Jose C. Tudela, a resident of San Jose. He received a broken collarbone and was admitted at CHC for further treatment, police said. Tudela was the driver of a black Toyota Tacoma 4X4 truck.

Officers from the DPS Traffic Investigation Unit learned that

Tudela was operating his truck on north direction when he saw the sedan traveling on the opposite lane along Beach Road near B&R Auto Shop intersection.

The car operated by Wang suddenly veered into the north-bound lane and collided with Tudela’s truck, police said.
