A message to CNMI soldiers in the Middle East

I read SSG Fabian M. Indalecio’s Letter to the Editor to the Saipan Tribune last Dec. 14, 2005 from Balad, Iraq and I would like to tell him that it’s always great to hear from you guys, and I know that we here at home like to read about what you are all accomplishing over there.

However, it pains me that you brave soldiers are so worried about the nonsense going on here that you feel you have to write. You should not have to worry about how the government is running back home while you are off fighting in a foreign land. You should not have to worry about shady stuff like the events of the last three weeks.

And, you certainly should not have to worry about losing your jobs while you are off fighting. I know at least one of you have been overlooked by the LEGISLATIVE BUREAU. I will make it my personal mission to insure that you get your job back. And if you don’t get the same job, or a better one with the Legislative Bureau, I will find you a job myself.

If I accomplish nothing else in this term, I will make certain that all of you veterans get all you have coming to you. I will unleash every asset at my disposal to help. And if you think you have seen me angry recently, you will not begin to imagine my fury if I find out anyone, especially our government, has mistreated any of you, our “Finest and Bravest.”

So, don’t worry guys, we are taking care of business here at home. Keep your eyes on the prize: Complete your mission and come home safe to your families and all of us here who love you and miss you. We are praying for your safe journey and look forward eagerly for your return early next year.

May you all have a peaceful Christmas celebration. Hafa Adai and Merry Christmas from all of us here in the CNMI.
