Requests for usage of Oleai Sports Complex due Jan. 15

Citing the need to organize a calendar of events for 2006, the Division of Sports and Recreation announced that all requests for usage of facilities within the Oleai Sports Complex be submitted next month.
In a statement, Sports and Recreation official Elias Rangamar said all requests for the 2006 calendar must be submitted no later than Jan. 15, 2006.
“All games, tournaments, practice, or usage of the facility for any reason must be submitted. All requests must have complete information with a date, time, and the duration of the period to use the facility,” he said.
The statement indicated that requests will be approved on a first-come, first-serve basis, as well as on availability of the calendar schedule.
“Any request submitted after the deadline will be penalized and considered after all valid requests are calendared for the year 2006,” Rangamar said.
Requests can be submitted to Rangamar at the Division of Sports and Recreation, or mail to the Division of Sports and Recreation, Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, P.O. Box 502476 Saipan, M.P. 96950. Requests can also be submitted via fax at (670) 664-2510.
The Oleai Sports Complex is home to many sporting events such as the Budweiser Cup BANMI Men’s Island-Wide Basketball League, the Saipan Softball Association Men’s and Women’s Fast Pitch and Slow Pitch leagues, the Saipan Major League, All Schools Track and Field Championships, United Filipino Organization Basketball League, and BANMI Men’s 25-and-under Basketball League, as well as local and regional tournaments, to name a few.
