Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman has ordered the deportation of a Chinese tourist who overstayed in the CNMI for more than six years.

Wiseman issued the order against Li Zhen Liang after the latter and the Immigration Division agreed for such deportation from the Commonwealth.

Wiseman said any bail posted in the case is exonerated and shall be turned over to the posting party.

Li and the Immigration, through the Attorney General’s Office, stipulated that rather than proceeding with the deportation hearing, they agreed to an order of deportation.

Li stated that he does not dispute that he is a deportable alien in that he overstayed his tourist entry permit, which expired on June 25, 1999.

Immigration records indicate that Li, a farmer, arrived in the CNMI as a tourist on June 22, 1999. His permit expired three days later.

On Nov. 21, 2005 at 9am, the respondent appeared at the Division of Immigration’s office and informed an immigration inspector that he was an overstaying alien since 1999.
