Marianas Music Videos provides the CNMI with an early Christmas treat tonight by producing the islands’ biggest concert featuring local artists—the Christmas in Paradise Concert.

More than 16 individual and group artists will showcase their talent in tonight’s concert, which would be held at the Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall starting at 7pm.

MMV producer and local artist A.J. Baldevia said he believes in local artists’ talent and said that they, too, can be entertainment stars in their own right.

“We want to put this concert out and showcase our talent and spread the spirit of Christmas,” Baldevia said.

The concert would feature Pete Magofna’s rap music in Chamorro language, the island rock and roll style of Split Attitude, the hip rock single of Dubba D, and Tagalog Christmas songs of local favorite Jerry Alcantara.

Miss Teen CNMI Divana Dela Cruz and local artist Walter Manglona would perform Christmas songs, while Tinian Team Nono would showcase electrifying moves in its dance performance.

Other performers include Baldevia, local star Amber Mendiola, The All Star Islanders, Amerasia, Larson Silas, Marcelino Quiroz, Manamko Rockers, Virgil Viray, Mark Nauta, and more. Entrance to the concert costs $10 per person.

MMV, the local counterpart of the world-renowned MTV, has produced 15 music videos, and plans to come up with a local music video channel that will feature local talents 24 hours daily, seven days a week.

“We want to invite aspiring artists and musicians to participate in MMV’s activities. We’ll continue to support local music,” Baldevia said.

Baldevia thanked Sounds Unlimited, which would provide superb sound and lighting effects for tonight’s concert. Three giant video screens would also be set up at the concert venue. The concert would be videotaped and aired on local television.

“What they’ll expect is non-stop pure music and entertainment,” Baldevia said.

Gov.-elect Benigno Fitial and Lt. Gov.-elect Timothy Villagomez would be guests-of-honor at the concert. Sponsors of the event include Coca Cola, Saipan World Resort, The Financial & Insurance Services Group, Inc., Sam Electronics, Pacific Quick Print, Marianas Repairs, Island Equipment Rental, Kautz Glass, and Antonio Cabrera and family.
