The Commonwealth Development Authority has recommended the granting of tax incentives for 10 years for the proposed $2-million call center on Saipan.

“We are finished with our recommendation which is to grant We Manage Calls its application,” said CDA board chair Tom Glenn Quitugua yesterday, noting that it was done in consultation with the CNMI Division of Revenue and Taxation.

We Manage Calls applied for a 10-year tax relief under the government’s qualifying certificate program.

The company wants to receive exemption from the excise tax in the first three years, an exemption from the Business Gross Receipt Tax for five years, and a 10-year exemption from corporate tax.

Quitugua said an earlier concern raised on the application is no longer an issue. Quitugua had earlier said that there was a concern that Nauru Building’s income might be a factor against the call center’s QC application.
