In addition to its well-patronized skin and hair care and treatment services, K’s International Beauty Center is making new offerings, including body massage, scrub, and waxing, among others.

Guy A. Almodiel, K’s International Beauty Center manager, said these new services were added in consideration of their customers’ overall health and wellness.

Massage, she said, is recommended for overworked muscles. It relieves muscle soreness, stiffness, and even muscle spasms.

“What the massage does is improve circulation, which increases blood flow. It means that fresh oxygen is released to body tissues. The result, you’ll feel much better,” said Almodiel.

She said that massage also aids in speed healing or recovery from disease. Overall, she said health massages promote the general well-being of people. Different types of massages have been incorporated into health and beauty regimens as it also improves muscle and skin tones.

Besides full body massage, Almodiel said the center also offers steam bath—an important process before a massage to open the skin’s pores. The massage would then condition the muscle and seal the skin pores back.

“Not so many of the massage shops here have steam bath. We have it here for our customers,” said Almodiel.

Mildred Balatero, who used to work for Ystilo, a chain of beauty shops in Manila set up by popular Philippine singer/actor Vina Morales, does the massage, body scrub, and waxing at the center.

Balatero says she performs bikini wax, underarm wax, and overall body wax.

“Some people go for body wax. It’s popular to some people,” she said.

Further, she said the center offers paraffin wax, which helps “increase range of motion, soothe arthritis pain, apply heat to muscles and soft tissues, and deeply moisturize overdry skin.”

Balatero said it is commonly applied to arms, legs, and hands.

“It’s very good. It softens your skin,” she said.

For hair care, the center offers hot oil treatment, rebonding and relax, hair color, and of course, hair cut.

“These services are very common everywhere but here at the center, we make sure that we assess the hair condition first and recommend the best option. We just don’t color your hair if it’s not yet time for it. We don’t just rebond the hair just because the customer wants it. We look at the hair and would advise against it if it’s not strong enough to hold the medicine,” said Almodiel.

She said the same is true with their skin care services.

“It’s our commitment to give the best service. Of course, we are here to make business but most of all we are concerned about the well-being of our customers. So we make sure that we get a thorough assessment of the skin before we do anything. With this, our customers can be assured that they are safe with us,” she said.

K’s International Beauty Center offers skin toning/rejuvenation, acne and pimple treatment, complete removal of blackheads/whiteheads, rapid treatment of cystic acne, and hyperpigmentation (freckles, chloasma, skin blemishes).

Other services are facial skin peeling, body skin peeling, electrocautery of warts, wrinkles and sagging skin, firming facial mask, bleaching, and permanent eyeline and eyebrow.

K’s International Beauty Center is located in the heart of Garapan’s commercial district, across The Godfather’s.
