USSP Fotten Palau surged ahead of the standings of the Budweiser SBA Open 8-Ball League after skunking Jewel Night Shooters at home Tuesday night.

Fotten Palau was as comfortable as it could be playing at USS Peleliu Club and proceeded to annihilate Jewel Night Shooters, 6-0, to improve its win-loss record to 20-4, a full game ahead of erstwhile frontrunner Da Terminators, who are at 19-5.

The entire gang starred for Fotten Palau as Gary Orpiano, Mei Rengiil, R.E. Rengiil, and Marvin Bauchelong picked up wins in the singles matches and the pairings of R.E. Rengiil and John Mongami and Bauchelong and Edward Suzuki did the same in the doubles.

The shutout loss dropped Jewel Night Shooters to 7-17, a mere two games ahead of cellar dweller VFW Leaders.

Da Terminators tried its best to keep pace with Fotten Palau but fell short when it could only beat Round Two Hustlers, 4-2, at Round Two Bar and Grill. In what was supposed to be a home game for Da Terminators, Jojo Talibong, Roman Rodriguez, Luis Fajardo and the doubles team of Talibong and Rodriguez made the best out of the situation and won on the road against the wily players of Round Two Hustlers, which saw its record level off at 12-12.

Bud’s Killaz, meanwhile, surged ahead to third place following its 4-2 licking of VFW What Doing at Bud’s Bar. Earning the victories for Bud’s Killaz were Roland Cruz, Henry Sasaki, Bill Villagomez, and the tandem of Jackie Sasaki and Peter Pereda. The win gave Bud’s Killaz a 14-10 record, while the loss gave VFW What Doing the exact opposite record at 10-14.

The match between VFW Leaders and USSP Fotten Gaga surprisingly proved to be the most evenly-matched of the bunch as both teams left VFW Post 3457 tied at three games apiece. Taking care of business for the home team were Rosemond Santos, Jess Aldan, and Shawn White and Debra Camacho, while earning their day’s pay for the visiting team were Welsin Apaisam, Bern Ikeda, and Nizer Mayamos and Ikeda.

Despite managing a stalemate against Fotten Gaga, VFW Leaders remained at the bottom of the pack with a 5-19 record, while Fotten Gaga is just a bit better at 9-15.
