Message of appreciation to the youth

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who exercised your right to vote in this election. All the camps campaigning for this gubernatorial election put up a great campaign, which attracted many of our islands’ manhoben. The great turn out at the polls proved that the young are interested in the affairs of government. What you all did showed every politician out there that the youth must be taken seriously. For this, we must all be proud.

I, for one, would like to extend my deepest appreciation for all of you lending your ears to the issues pertaining to our Commonwealth. It is my belief that we steered our islands into a new direction of campaigning by showing our disgust for the old practices of candidate bashing. Although some stuck to using it, the young voters seemed to have filtered it out and stuck to the issues in making their choices. Although my committee supported the tandem of Heinz and Dave, we were truly pleased to see other youth come up and become active as well. I tip my hat off to both the Young G’s and the Covenant Youth for putting up such a spectacle.

Winning at this point is immaterial; the strength that our generation has displayed is, in my opinion, satisfaction enough. Can you imagine our strength if combined? I am proud to have been a part of history where the manhoben played an integral part on the outcome of a gubernatorial election. I hope that one day we may all join forces in the spirit of our generation to bring prosperity back to our islands.

Biba manhoben Marianas!
