Saipan and Tinian experienced heavy rainfall early yesterday as a result of a tropical disturbance that passed by southwest of the Marianas.

The Emergency Management Office said, though, that no typhoon is approaching the Marianas.

The EMO cautioned motorists and residents of low-lying areas yesterday to take precautions about possible flooding. But the EMO reported no major flooding; yesterday’s heavy rains stopped by mid-day.

In the afternoon, the EMO again advised residents about another batch of heavy showers later that day even though the early morning showers and thunderstorms had already dissipated.
