SSA to meet tonight
Saipan Softball Association commander-in-chief Ray Palacios is once again calling for all managers and coaches interested in the future of underhanded arcs to help him search for the process that will best prepare the CNMI for international competition.
A good place to start is planning for the 2005 Women’s Island-Wide Slow-Pitch Softball League, which will hold a meeting today 6pm at the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
According to Palacios, the purpose of the upcoming season will be to prepare the CNMI’s players for the homecoming of the 2006 Micronesian Games next summer.
Palacios also recognized the challenge of reaching out to players on Tinian and Rota, and said that it will have to be up to those players to make their intentions known as soon as possible to coordinate for tryouts or evaluations.
“It’s the CNMI not Saipan so during tonight’s meeting will be advising that it’s open to players to tryout for Rota and Tinian, but they will have to make arrangements to get here. First of all we need to know the numbers of anyone who’s interested and we’ll take it from there,” he said. (Brad E. Ruszala)
