SSHS PTA meeting today
The Parents-Teachers Association of Saipan Southern High School would have a meeting today, Oct. 27, 6:30pm at the school’s cafeteria. All parents and guardians of students attending SSHS are requested to attend the meeting. (PR)

It’s Halloween, it’s haunted, and it’s a fright night…
Everyone is invited to Hopwood Junior High School’s Halloween event today from 5pm to 8pm. Tickets cost $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Be prepared to get scared!
Halloween concert, carnival at KagES
Kagman Elementary School Parents-Teachers Association would host a free Halloween concert and carnival on Oct. 29 on campus grounds.
The free concert performed by the Saipan Pacific Winds Band would he held from 4pm to 5pm and would be followed by carnival games and the special haunted house adventure from 5pm to 7pm. Vendors of all kinds would also be on campus all throughout the affair. (PR)
KES haunted house on Oct. 28
Koblerville Elementary School is inviting the public to its haunted house this Friday, Oct. 28 at the school’s café. The event will be held from 6pm to 8pm and costs $3. (PR)
SSHS make-up days for Typhoon Nabi set
Saipan Southern High School would be holding make-up classes for days missed due to Typhoon Nabi on Nov. 1, Tuesday, Nov. 22, Thursday, and Dec. 23, Friday.
The make-up days will be regular hours from 8am to 3pm. For more information about the make-up days, call SSHS at 664-4000. (PR)
Dandan Elementary says thanks
The Dandan Elementary School and the PSS family are extending their appreciation to the Workforce Investment Agency and the individuals who helped out in their beautification efforts that took place on Sept. 19-20, 2005.

Hopwood closed to non-PSS activities
Beginning Nov. 1, 2005, the campus of Hopwood Junior High School will be closed to all non-Public School System activities. Groups wishing to use the facilities on a one-time basis should contact Hopwood for specifics, according to principal Jim Brewer.
A call for local artworks
The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture is seeking artworks from visual and contemporary artists to submit for the upcoming Island Artists and Christmas Crafts Exhibit scheduled to open Nov. 21, 2005, at the CNMI Gallery for Arts and Culture next to the post office on Capitol Hill.
The deadline for submission of artworks will be Friday, Nov. 11.
The Arts Council is inviting all visual and contemporary artists to register and participate in the annual exhibit specifically highlighting the many arts in the arts and crafts in the CNMI.
Interested artists should submit their works at the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture office, Capitol Hill next to the post office from 8am to 4pm. Registration forms are available and participation is free.

House of Manhoben opens registration
The House of Manhoben Center is open for registration for youth in the area of tutoring, sports, and the variety of activities the center has to offer. Tutorial services is also provided to children from ages 5 to 9 for one house, Monday to Friday.
Children from ages 10 to 17 who may need assistance with their school work, guidance, or who don’t have the chance to participate in sports team at school are encouraged to participate.
Registration in ongoing, from 2:30pm to 5:30pm at the House of Manhoben center at Chalan Kanoa. Deadline for registration is Oct. 31.
Parents and guardians are asked to provide proof of birth (birth certificate/passport) upon registering their child(ren). (PR)
