Roligat on top of Rocball scoring
Defending champion Mwaliyas made an impressive debut in the 2005 World Organized Rocball High School League, and one reason was the play of multi-sport athlete Darrel Roligat, who after the first round, leads the league in scoring.
Roligat, who has made a name for himself with his speed on the rubber track, is also making his presence felt on the court and leads the league with 23 points after serving up five aces, smashing two kees, and connecting for three goals.
Statistics were furnished by Rocball creator James Feger, who provided the statistics on the heavy hitters for each team yesterday.
Also having a good start to the season was veteran Myron Laniyo of B-n-S, who has recorded four aces and two xunks from the service line, and added three kees for 18 points.
Right behind Laniyo is Ochobu’s Ichnis Kapwich, who played well despite his team’s losses and has already racked up 17 points. The ball bruiser has four aces, a xunk, two kees, and a goal to his name.
Titoa Francisco of the Lagooners is currently fourth on the list with 13 points after smacking four aces, a kee, and a goal, while Julian Fitial of Malat and Frank Suda of Black Magic are tied at fifth with 10 points apiece, both finding success from the service area. Fitial has tallied four aces and a xunk while Suda knocked in three aces and two xunks.
Capping the leaders are Matthew Iguel of Caropinos and Anirut Tebuteb of Just For Fun with five points apiece with each having an ace and a goal.
High school Rocball action continues throughout the week with the second round kicking off yesterday.
B-n-S, Mwaliyas, Lagooners, and Black Magic each picked up wins in round one.
