Jazz aficionados on the islands will get to witness a rare acoustic event when the Aqua Resort Club brings in the Shuya Sato Ando Sound Shower, a renowned group of jazz artists from Japan for a one-night concert dubbed “Jazz One Night” next month.

Saxophone player Sbuya Sato, bass guitarist Michio Takanabi, drummer Akihiko Hasegawa, and pianist Peter St. Ledger are expected to dazzle local jazz enthusiasts at the Achague hotel on November 12, Saturday, beginning at 6pm.

The event will not merely be an aural delight as the audience will also be treated to a full-course dinner.

Aqua Resort Club’s sales and marketing manager Dorina M. Gabutero said the hotel came up with the one-night jazz concert to help liven up the weekend for everyone after a stressful week at work.

“We are flying in the jazz musicians for the one-night concert to liven up the local business environment and we hope it would release the stress of everybody who happens to watch it,” she said.

While the concert is primarily aimed at local jazz lovers, Gabutero said they have also promoted the event in Japan. So far, she said Aqua Resort has already received a good number of reservations from that country.

Sato, Takanabi, Hasegawa, and St. Ledger are all established jazz musicians in Japan and have regularly played in bars and concert halls in the country’s capital, Tokyo, according to Gabutero.

She said tickets for “Jazz One Night” costs $80 for front seats and $60 for regular seats. For reservation and inquiry, contact Yoshimi or Mayeth at 322-1234.
