Covenant: Each vote is important

“Every single vote is important.”

This was how Covenant Party advertising committee chairman Charles Reyes Jr. defended the political advertisement featuring Joaquin Crisostimo Babauta’s expression of support for the party’s gubernatorial tandem, House Speaker Benigno Fitial and Vice Speaker Timothy Villagomez.

“GOP is trying to minimize the impact of the commercial, but that is a very powerful commercial,” Reyes said.

Reyes said Joaquin Babauta is the first cousin of Gov. Juan N. Babauta’s father. He said the older Babauta used to be the governor’s supporter in 2001, but the relative defected to the Covenant Party due to dissatisfaction with how the Babauta administration is being run.

Reyes said Joaquin Babauta has a block of voters supporting his choices for the upcoming November polls. He added that every voter is significant.

“The Republican Party is taking a voter for granted. Every single vote is important,” Reyes said. “The Covenant Party welcomes voters.” (John Ravelo)
