The Northern Marianas College will play host to what is expected to be another heated bout as the guns of Verizon and Pepsi clash tomorrow evening in the ongoing 2005 Masters Basketball League.

A lot would be on the line as the winner of the match will earn the last finals slot, while the loser will be eliminated from competition and will have to settle for third place.

Pepsi, which won the pennant crown in the regular season, suffered a blow to their charge after dropping to fellow powerhouse Heinz and Dave Proa, 87-117, last Saturday.

With the win, Proa moved to the finale and awaits a challenger.

Verizon, meanwhile, kept its title hopes alive by downing Sabungero last Oct. 7 and dethroned the Old Aces, 94-73, last Saturday in convincing fashion.
Game time is set for 6pm. The championship game will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, with Proa holding a twice-to-beat advantage after posting a perfect run in the playoffs. (Shan Seman)
