Student entries asked for BoG ’06 calendar contest

HAGATNA, Guam—The Bank of Guam announced that its third annual 2006 Calendar Photo Contest now underway.

The contest details include:

Theme: Island Cultures

Medium: Minimum 4X6 color or black and white print. Digital photos are accepted (copy to CD and a copy of the photo). All photos will become the property of the Bank of Guam.

Eligibility: All high school students throughout Guam, Saipan, Rota, Tinian, Chuuk, Majuro, Pohnpei and Belau. Photo must be taken by the student submitting the photo.

Subject Matter: Photos that can tell a story about an aspect of your island’s culture, such as cultural dances, artifacts, etc. Identifiable individuals appearing in the photograph must sign a model’s release to be submitted with the entry.

Deadline: Oct. 28, 2005. Participants may enter no more than two photos.

Entries must be identified with the following: photographer’s name, high school and grade level. Each entry must also include a title, brief description and location of the photo.

Winners will be awarded $200 for the Cover Photo and $100 for each Month’s Photo. Winning entries will be featured in the 2006 Bank of Guam calendar, which will be available in December 2005. Some 10,000 copies of the calendar will be distributed throughout all the bank’s branches. Photos will also be featured on the bank’s website.
