Powerhouse San Antonio Sixers I continued to shine in the ongoing 2005 Saipan Rotary Club Youth Basketball League, with its latest achievement coming at the expense of the young Capitol Hill Breeze.

Leading scorer Manuel Ajoste, Jon Lim, and Philip Cequena came up big, as scoring threat Kevin Cequena was resting much of the game, and led the team to an easy 135-62 victory Monday evening at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Ajoste and company wasted no time in taking control of the match, running and gunning their way to a commanding lead. Ajoste knocked in two triples and had 12 points, while Lim added a long bomb of his own and scored nine points in the first half, spearheading a balanced attack that resulted in a 29-point halftime lead, 59-30.

Making noise for Breeze was Syl Tellei, who scored the team’s first seven points and finished the 20-minute half with 13 points.

Tellei continued to carry the load for Breeze, adding another 15 points in the second half, but his efforts was far from enough as Ajoste, Lim, and Philip Cequena fueled another wild run to close the game on a high note.

Ajoste, who ranks third in the league in scoring, led all scorers with 30 points, while Lim and Philip Cequena supported well with 21 and 19 points. Three other San Antonio cagers also finished in double figures.

Tellei led Breeze with 27 points.
