KAGMAN JROTC SAYS THANKS

The Kagman High School Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps Ayuyu Battalion is extending its thanks to the community of Saipan for its support of the battalion’s Fundraising Luncheon, which was held on Oct. 15, 2005 at the Thirteen Fishermen Pavilion, Garapan.

“Thank you so much for your support. The success of the event was a reflection of your gracious support to our program. All cadets involved also extend their thank you. I would like to say thank you to all parents who helped us succeed,” said SFC Juan King on behalf of the Ayuyu Battalion and the instructors.

FRG MEETING TOMORROW

The Echo Company 100th Battalion 442nd Infantry Family Readiness Group would like to inform all families of its soldiers that there will be a general members meeting tomorrow, Oct. 20, Thursday, beginning 6pm at the Army Reserve Center in Puerto Rico.

ASVAB THIS SATURDAY

Who: High school graduates, high school seniors, or those with a GED. Active duty applicants must be aged 17–34. Army Reserve applicants must be aged 17–39. Must be a U.S. citizen or a citizen of FSM, Palau, or have an I-55 1 (Permanent Resident Card).

What: The ASVAB, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery

Where: U.S. Army Reserve Center in Puerto Rico

When: Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at 7:30am and 1:30 pm.

Why: To take advantage of Army incentives like money for college, skill training, guaranteed pay and entitlements, travel, adventure, full medical and dental care, 20-year retirement and much, much more.

MEETING ON UNINTENDED HOOKING OF SEABIRDS RESCHEDULED

The Oct. 6, 2005 meeting of the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council to consider modifying proposed measures to reduce the unintended hooking of seabirds by U.S. longline fishing vessels based in Hawaii has been rescheduled to Nov. 1, 2005.

ELECTION PANEL MOVES TO SUSUPE

In its final preparations for the Nov. 5, 2005 general election, the Commonwealth Election Commission has moved its offices and its day-to-day operations from its Capitol Hill office to the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe, Saipan beginning Oct. 17. The office will be there until Nov. 21, 2005.

The commission could still be reached through telephone number 664-VOTE and by facsimile at 664-8689. Electronic mail should continue to be addressed to cec@saipan.com and info@votecnmi.gov.mp.
