BoG sues two over unpaid loans
The Bank of Guam yesterday sued two persons at the Superior Court for alleged delinquency in their loan payments.
The bank’s attorney, Gregory J. Koebel, filed separate civil actions against Danilo Q. Tayag and Jason K. Leon Guerrero. Koebel said both debtors have outstanding loan payments, the principal amounts of which exceed $4,000.
In the complaint against Tayag, Koebel said the debtor acquired a $10,000 loan from the bank on Aug. 27, 2000. Koebel said Tayag defaulted on the promissory note that he has issued to the bank and failed to make any loan payment since July 28, 2005.
Koebel said the bank has sent Tayag a notice of claim over the unpaid loan principal of $4,525.50 and interests, but the debtor allegedly failed to make any payment despite demand.
Leon Guerrero, meanwhile, obtained a bank loan in the amount of $5,118.24 on March 16, 2004. Koebel said Leon Guerrero has also failed to make any loan payment since April 1, 2005. Koebel said Leon Guerrero failed to settle the outstanding principal amount of $4,372.36 and interests despite demand.
Koebel said the bank has performed all of its obligations under the notes. He asked the Superior Court to compel the debtors to pay the bank the unpaid principal amounts plus interests and costs related to the suit.
