Slate of Dandan Elementary activities
The Tottot family would like to remind the entire Dandan Elementary School Community of the following important dates to remember and school activities for the month of October:
* Oct. 11-18: Bilingual Proficiency Assessment for all 1st-6th grade.
* Oct. 14: K-6 Award Ceremony at 9:45am
* Oct. 14: Accreditation-Parent Community Profile Survey must be filled out
* Oct. 21: Education Day Essay due for all 4-6th grade
* Oct. 22: Math Court/Math Count
* Oct. 22: Parent Symposium Conference at MHS campus at 8-12noon
* Oct. 26: CJPA-Domestic Violence Awareness Month School Presentation
* Oct. 28: DES Student Council Officer’s Induction at school campus – 9:45am
* Oct. 28: STUCO Halloween Dance Fundraising at DES cafeteria at 6:00pm
* Oct. 29: Saturday Reading Academy begins at 8:00am-12noon at the school library
* Dec. 22 & 23: Make up days for Typhoon Nabi.
Reminders:
* DES Physical Fitness Program: every Friday from 1:45pm-2:30pm at the school baseball field.
* After School Program is forthcoming.
* Language Learners Survey and ERATE survey-must be fill out and return to the school by the end of this week.
October events at Hopwood Junior High School
* Oct. 13: October PTSA 6-7pm in the HJHS cafeteria. Bilingual will be presenting. Food Service staff from Central Office will be in the school’s office to help process free meal applications. Please bring a food stamp ID card if you have one, or two check stubs from each working family member.
* Oct. 14: E-rate forms are due if you want to see Mr. Brewer in a dress!
* Oct. 11 to 14: Finals Week
* Oct. 27: Cultural Day
* Oct. 28: Report Card Day. School will be half day. Parents may pick up report cards from 3:00-6:00pm.
Don’t forget about our Saturday Reading Program! Saturdays from 8am to 12 noon we offer drop-in reading for students and community members in the Hopwood library. Backpacks no longer allowed.
Class makeup days on Tinian
Tinian Jr./Sr. High School will make up the instructional days missed on the following dates:
Nov. 1, 22 and 25 Regular schools days
Dec. 22 and 23 Regular schools days
Saturday Academy starts at 8am through noon. Breakfast, snacks and lunch will be served.
Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm-8pm
NMI Civics Extended Class-Rm C208
Thursdays-6:30pm-8:30pm
U.S. History Extended Class-Library
Parents are guardians must provide transportation to and from school. For evening extended classes, parents must pick up students on time. Students must have “Parent’s Consent Form” signed before they are accepted into the program. (PR)
