Reelectionist Saipan mayor Juan Borja Tudela yesterday complained against the Republican Party for allegedly listing him as Democrat Party candidate in a sample ballot.

Tudela, the Covenant Party’s official candidate, disclosed in a media statement that the GOP has been disseminating the sample ballots, which might confuse voters of his party affiliation.

Tudela said he filed a letter-complaint with the AGO and demanded that the GOP make a public apology.

In a news statement, the mayor said he urged Attorney General Pamela Brown to “ask the Republican Party to ‘cease and desist from using the misleading ballot sample immediately.’”

“I am also sure that the governor would not be happy if another party label was placed under his name. They too would be very upset, as I am now,” Tudela said.

The Saipan Tribune attempted to reach GOP chair John Reyes upon receiving the mayor’s statement, but phone calls were unanswered.
