No. 2 seed Pepsi and fourth seed Old Aces will clash this Saturday at the Northern Marianas College Gymnasium for the championship of the 45-and-over Masters Basketball League.

Pepsi was the first team to earn a slot in the championship game after beating third seed Chalan Kanoa Legends, 81-66, last Sept. 23.

For their part, the Old Aces stunned pennant champion Proa in their semifinal bout last Sept. 30, playing with just five cagers but still managing to pull off a 73-71 victory.

Pepsi and the Old Aces will begin their battle for all the marbles at 7:30pm.

Meanwhile, the 35-and-over league will hold a playoff game tomorrow night at 6:30pm as Verizon and Sabungero battle for the right to advance further in the playoffs. The loser will be eliminated as both teams have dropped a game.

Pepsi will then battle the Old Aces at 6pm on Saturday, with the winner advancing to play pennant champion Heinz and Dave Proa next Saturday at 6pm, with the winner of that bout earning a ticket to the championship game.

The winner of the Verizon-Sabungero bout will then advance and play the loser of the Pepsi-Old Aces bout at 7:30pm next Saturday.

The championship game of the 35-and-over league will be played on Oct. 29. If necessary, another game will be played the next day. (Shan Seman)
