Youth Month activities bared
The Office of Special Assistant for Youth Affairs announced yesterday that the 2005 Youth Octoberfest 4th Annual Youth Month will go ahead this month.
Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Florence Kirby said some 11 youth centers on Saipan would participate in the activities that would make them active and productive this October.
On Oct. 7, Garapan Youth Learning Center will be opened and the Domestic Violence Awareness’ “VickyAnn’s Alert Candlelight Ceremony” will be held in Tanapag.
The youth centers will also be participating in the inauguration of the 8th CNMI Youth Congress at the Legislature.
Kirby said the much-awaited Youth Takeover Day would take place on Oct. 19, while the Youth Concert at the Garapan Fishing complex will be held on Oct. 22. An all-day fun “Smoke-Out” activities will follow on Oct. 25. Another youth center will be opened, this time in Koblerville—the Koblerville Sports and Youth Complex.
The Youth Month, she said, will not be complete without the Halloween Haunted House and Candy Tent at the Garapan Fishing Complex.
Oct. 31 will again mark another opening of a youth center—the San Isidro Youth Learning Center.
Representatives from As Matuis Youth Center, Garapan Youth Learning Center, Gualo Rai Children’s Park and Youth Center, Karidat’s House of Manhoben Center, Mayor’s Youth Center, San Isidro Youth Learning Center, San Antonio Manhoben Center, Koblerville Sports Complex and Youth Center, Kagman Youth Center, and Youth With A Mission attended the declaration held at the Youth Affairs office in Capitol Hill.
