Tan Holdings names new president
Initiating new strategic directions for the company, Tan Holdings Corp.—which does business in more than a dozen industries in the Western Pacific—has named Jerry Tan as the company’s new president and chief operating officer. At the same time, former president Willie Tan has become the new chief executive officer of the privately held Tan family group of companies that is now a global enterprise.
“We recognize Willie’s proven entrepreneurial capabilities and vast experience, which make him the natural choice to take on collective group responsibility for the continued growth of our companies globally,” said chairman Tan Siu Lin, in an announcement to employees.
In line with this business direction, Willie Tan will be responsible for the strategic expansion in this region as CEO of Tan Holdings Corp. and Luen Thai Fishing Group, as well as oversee several other ventures in Asia.
Henry Tan, president and CEO of Luen Thai Holdings, will assume responsibilities over the company’s apparel group, including Saipan factory operations.
“I am also pleased to announce the promotion of Jerry Tan to president and COO of Tan Holdings Corp. and president of Asia Pacific Hotels,” said the chairman. “Jerry has been instrumental in the successful development, positioning and management of THC companies over the last 20 years.”
Jerry Tan is also the president and CEO of the CTSI Logistics Group, a company founded on Saipan, which today has offices in 17 cities in 12 countries.
Tan Holdings companies include insurance, hotels, a cargo airline, aircraft ground handling, logistics, wholesale, movie theatres, travel agency, tours, real estate management, publishing and other businesses. Asia Pacific Hotels owns the Dai-ichi Hotel Saipan Beach, Saipan Grand Hotel, Century Hotel, and the new Fiesta Resort Guam. (PR)
