Chamber General Membership Meeting set on Wednesday

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will hold its October General Membership Meeting at Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Buffet will start at 11:30am and costs $12. As always, the public is invited.

This month’s speakers promise to be especially informative. Flying in from Guam for the meeting is Lee Webber, chairperson of the Guam Chamber of Commerce Armed Forces Committee. Webber will speak about Guam Chamber of Commerce interactions with the military, as well as address areas for future coordination between the Guam and Saipan Chambers of Commerce.

Also speaking is Jay Santos, Director of Customs Service, Division of Customs Service. He will talk about the CNMI Customs Service’s new Border Management System and how it will prove beneficial to the business community.

A third speaker is James Livingstone, Chief of the Civil Division, Attorney General’s Office, representing the Commonwealth Election Commission. Livingston will talk about the retention of judges and the issue of the Constitution Convention in the upcoming election.
