Another successful chapter in the history of the MDX Amateur Radio Club Inter-color Basketball League recently closed, but before officials begin preparing and looking forward to the next season, the league expressed its appreciation to all supporters who played a role in the league’s success.

In a statement released yesterday, MDX Amateur Radio Club president Romeo “Bong” Malasarte recognized all team sponsors, coaches, and muses for their participation in the league.

“We work hard to make this league improve and make it successful,” Malasarte said. “Your continued support to MDX has assisted us in moving forward.”

Malasarte also recognized the contributions from several businesses, which assisted with trophies for the various awards presented on closing night. Among those receiving special recognition were Perfectly Set, McDonald’s, KH0PU, Chelsea Store, and RP Construction.

Malasarte also commended all MDX members for their efforts, as well as Division of Sports and Recreation director Tony Rogolifoi, Abner Venus and all referees, table officials Andrew Mesina, Ruel Nava, and Archie Rosario, reporters and photographers, the Bayani Newsletter, Danilo Domingo, and Roland Pamintuan of the United Filipino Organization.

Also on the receiving end of recognition were fellow board members such as vice president Ed Reyes, secretary Romy Sison, treasurer Vic Brana, public relations officer Trixie and Maryann, auditor Mel Domingo, Raul Abordonado, Ceasar Villaluz, and board chair Wilfredo Ching.

Malasarte also thanked the Tambayan Band for assisting MDX during the opening of the league as well as Philippine Consul General Wilfredo Maximo for presenting awards during the closing ceremony.

“Your unwavering support is greatly appreciated by all of us here at MDX Amateur Radio Club,” he said.

Meanwhile, Malasarte also disclosed that the MDX club would donate some proceeds of the league to hurricane victims through the American Red Cross.

The league concluded Sunday night at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, with Samahang Ilokano at Pangasinense taking the coveted title. JCN finished as runner-up, Poohdeni as second runner-up, and 287 Club Verizon as third runner-up.

Other teams that competed in the 2005 season included Samahang Manggagawang Filipino, Cavite Country House, Micronesian Brokers Inc., and Coca Cola Subway.
