BOE standing committees meeting today

The CNMI State Board of Education members will be attending a joint committee meeting of the BOE standing committees on fiscal, personnel and administration, and school reform, parental involvement and student relations today, Sept. 29, 1pm at the BOE conference room, second floor of the Northern Marianas Islands Retirement Fund Building in Capitol Hill.

The two committees will deliberate on two orders of business—old business, which include the “Proposed Central Office Management Salary Scale,” “Corporate Card/Airline Corporate Program” for travel, “Student Health Insurance,” and “Annual Leave Bank,” and new business, which include “Local and Federal Fund Status Update,” “PRAXIS I and Alternatives,” “Surety Bond Listing Requirement for CIP,” “GO Bond, Teacher Scholarship Matter,” “Tenure Proposal, Status of Bus For Rota and Tinian,” and “Compact Impact Funding Use Status/Package for Submission to the Governor/OIA.”

A quorum of the CNMI State Board of Education may be present at this meeting. This meeting is not designed to be a regular or special meeting of the board and no action will be taken. Although the meeting is not designed to be a meeting of the board, a quorum of the board may be present to participate in the discussion. Since a quorum may be present, this notice is given pursuant to the Open Government Act of the CNMI.
