PAWS FUNDRAISER MEETING ON OCT. 5
Doggie wash? Family pet show? Walkathon?
Pet Assistance and Welfare Services, or PAWS, has come up with some great ideas for its next fundraising event, but the organization needs the public’s help to make them happen.
Any PAWS member or member wannabe who would like to lend a helping hand in planning and carrying out some fun activities in support of PAWS programs, please come to a meeting at San Antonio Elementary School, Room B-3, on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 5:30pm.

Music lovers and club denizens will get a special treat tonight as the weekly party catering to Filipinos continue to attract a huge crowd.
Taking center stage to delight the crowd is Saipan’s most sought-after band, the Big Beats band, showcasing the singing prowess of their new female vocalist.
To make it more affordable, cover charge is being lowered to $6 per head inclusive of one local drink.

POSTPONEMENT OF PAROLE HEARINGS
This is to inform all inmates scheduled to appear for parole hearings on Sept. 29 and 30, 2005, as well as board members and the Department of Corrections that, except for the scheduled revocation hearing of parolee Clyde Davis P. Diaz, the parole hearings scheduled for Sept. 29 and 30, 2005 are postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The revocation hearing will convene at 9am at the Board of Parole Office Conference Room, House No. 1216. The new date of the hearings will be announced at a later date.

DEQ CLEANUP ON SATURDAY
The Division of Environmental Quality Cleanup Brigade will be picking up trash at Tanapag Beach (Social Hall), in front or across Tanapag Church. If you would like to volunteer your time to clean up and beautify our island, meet the DEQ representative in the bright green t-shirt on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at 8am. The brigade will be at it until 10am, and then will break for drinks, to continue with the cleanup if needed.
This month, outstanding brigade members who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who have participated in at least three cleanups will receive a green brigade t-shirt.

SSHS MEETING ON SEPT. 29
The Saipan Southern High School would be holding a Parent-Teachers Association meeting next Thursday, Sept. 29, 6:30pm at the school’s cafeteria. Parents and legal guardians of students currently enrolled at SSHS are requested to attend the PTA meeting.
VETERANS DAY TUESDAY MEETINGS
The Office of the Military/Veterans Affairs is reminding the public that the Veterans Day Committee meeting will be held at its office at Building 1364 on Capital Hill every Tuesday at 9am. The first meeting was held yesterday, Sept. 27.

AERIAL MANEUVERS AT FDM
The Emergency Management Office, in conjunction with U.S Naval Forces Marianas, would like to inform the public that the U.S. military will be conducting aerial maneuvers and aerial survey exercises on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla. The schedule dates and time are as follow:
Sept. 29 – 30, 2005, from 5am to 11pm Aerial Survey
The general location of this activity will be on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla Training Area, from 15,000 feet mean sea level on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants.
Due to the danger imposed by this activity, EMO is advising the general public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators—to take precautionary measures around this area during the time and dates indicated.
