Police: Guard robs poker arcade that he’s supposed to watch
Police have launched a manhunt for a security guard who took off yesterday morning with some $28,000 that he had allegedly robbed from the Garapan poker establishment that he was supposed to protect.
Police identified the suspect as Alexander Reyes Cana, a 47-year-old resident of Chalan Piao, who was assigned as security guard at the Fun and Games in Garapan.
Superior Court Associate Judge Ramona Manglona issued an arrest warrant against Cana and ordered the confiscation of the security guard’s travel documents. The judge set the bail at $20,000.
“The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone having information on Mr. Alexander R. Cana’s whereabouts, immediately call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 234-7272 or call the Department of Public Safety at 911,” said acting DPS spokesman Eric David.
Police said the robbery occurred between 7am to 8:30am. Citing the results of an investigation, David said Cana entered the poker establishment and forced the cashier into the restroom.
The security guard then gained entry into the cashier’s booth and stole some $27,000 to $28,000, David said.
Policemen responded to the scene minutes later after receiving reports about the incident. David reported no casualty.
