Pharmin goes on honors list
Orrin Joseph Ogumoro Pharmin was recently informed of his inclusion in The National Dean’s List, 2004-2005 due to his academic achievements during his freshman year at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon.
One of the highest academic honors that can be bestowed on college students, Pharmin’s selection makes him eligible to compete for one of 50 scholarships of $1,000 each to be awarded this year. To date, almost $4 million has been awarded.
Another benefit for honored students is the Student Referral Service, which serves as a valuable reference for future school or employment applications. Each year several thousand National Dean’s List students use the SRS when they are applying to selective institutions, graduate and professional schools or competing for desirable jobs.
The National Dean’s List is the largest, most prestigious publication in the country recognizing gifted students selected by their deans, comparable faculty members or other educational organizations. Each year 2,500 of the nation’s finest colleges and universities use the publication as a special award to honor their best students. Only _ of 1 percent of the nation’s college students receive this award.
Orrin is the son of proud parents John M. Tagabuel and Laura T. Ogumoro. A 2004 Mount Carmel High School graduate, he is a recent transfer to Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon, and will continue his studies as a business major. (PR)
