Bud Cup takes center stage this Monday
The wait will soon come to an end as the 2005 BANMI Budweiser Cup is set to unfold this Monday, Aug. 29, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
This according to BANMI official Elias Rangamar, who said yesterday that eight teams will begin their campaign for the coveted championship title.
Rangamar said two-time defending champion Toyota is already assured opening their defense of their title on opening night.
Officials will then conduct a raffle drawing during the opening ceremony to determine who will bang heads with Toyota. The raffle will also determine the evening’s second bout and the schedule for the entire season.
Rangamar said all teams must be present at the ceremony, which will begin at 6:30pm.
Two games will be played every Monday and Wednesday, with the first game scheduled for 7pm and the second at 8:30pm.
Teams will battle through two rounds, meaning each team will battle another twice before the conclusion of the regular season.
The playoffs will feature a single elimination format, ending with a best-of-three championship series.
