A sports utility vehicle that is believed to have been involved in a collision with another vehicle turned turtle Sunday night along Beach Road, injuring its driver and possibly the driver of the other car.

Police found the green Nissan Montero SUV on its back around 10:43pm Sunday night. The car, with plate number ABW-594, was upside down on the northbound lane along Beach Road, just after Moylan’s Insurance Underwriters International office.

Police, however, would not give any details of the accident, besides saying that the case would be investigated as soon as possible.

The driver of the green SUV was identified as a male and appeared to have sustained injuries. An ambulance quickly arrived at the site and rushed the victim to the Commonwealth Health Center’s emergency room department where he is currently being observed. The hospital declined to provide any information about his status as of press time.

A light colored pickup truck was also spotted near the accident area, with damage to its body indicating a collision with the SUV. The truck, which appeared to have been heading north, had severe damage to its hood and a shattered windshield. The condition of its driver was not reported.

The accident temporarily slowed traffic along Beach Road but resumed normal operations around 12:30am.
