Council cites successful staging of 2005 Liberation Day celebrations

The 8th Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council has extended its congratulation to all officials, volunteers and committee members for what it described as a successful staging of the 2005 Liberation Day celebrations.

The council, under the leadership of chair Gregorio V. Deleon Guerrero, vice chair David A. Indalecio and secretary Antonia M. Tudela, said they are extremely gratified to join the people of the CNMI in extending a sincere and heartfelt recognition, congratulation and commendation to everyone who helped make the festivities a success.

In particular, the council cited Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela, 2005 Liberation Day Committee chair Eloy S. Inos and committee members, Gov. Juan N. Babauta, Lt. Gov. Diego T. Benavente, department heads and staff members; Senate President Joaquin G. Adriano and members of the Senate; House Speaker Benigno R. Fitial and members of the House of Representative; Washington Rep. Pete A. Tenorio and staff members; Rota Mayor Benjamin T. Manglona, 10th Rota Municipal Council chair Alexander A. Apatang, vice chair Mametto M. Ayuyu and secretary Tom Glenn A. Quitugua; Tinian/Aguigan Mayor Francisco M. Borja; 10th Tinian and Aguigan Municipal Council chair Edwin P. Aldan, vice chair Jude U. Hofschneider and secretary Patrick A. Manglona; Northern Islands Mayor Valentin I. Taisakan and staff members; Chief Justice Miguel S. Demapan, Associate Justices Alexander C. Castro and Juan A. Manglona and staff members; Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja, Associate Judge Kenneth Govendo, Juan T. Lizama, Ramona V. Manglona and David A. Wiseman and staff members; 2005 Saipan Liberation Day Grand Marshall Agnes McPhetres, who led the 2005 Liberation Day parade; Yvonne Passi and her Royal Court; business leaders, community leaders, church leaders, youth leaders, autonomous agencies, Public School System, Japanese Association, Filipino Association, Korean Association, Chinese Association and other organizations, sponsors, booth operators, float contestants, parade participants, and the general public.

“The members of the municipal council salute everybody for a job well done,” the council said in a statement.
