Airman Zannella Jolene Quitugua Lizama of Saipan and 430 others took their oath as members of the U.S. Air Force during a graduation ceremony held at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas on July 1, 2005.

Lizama was assigned to the 321 Training Squadron/Flight 308 under the command of Lt. Col Warren Ward.

Lizama, the daughter of Benedicto Reyes Lizama and Ana Quitugua Lizama, is a graduate of Marianas High School, Class of 2002.

In attendance on behalf of Lizama’s family and CNMI Resident Representative Pete A. Tenorio was staffer Pete Torres. Honorary guest USAF Col. Mary Kay Hertog praised Tenorio for his dedication and generous support for the men and women in uniform represented at Lackland Air Force Basic Military Training graduation.

“Airman Lizama has joined the men and women who give their tomorrows for our todays,” said Hertog.

Although currently in the CNMI, Tenorio was able to convey his best wishes over the phone to Lizama. “Congratulations, Zannella, you should be proud of your achievement and know how much honor you bring to your family, friends and the CNMI,” Tenorio said.

Tenorio also extended his congratulations to Lizama’s parents, for their daughter’s accomplishments and for joining the ranks of many brave young men and women from the Northern Marianas who volunteer to serve the people of the United States.
