The Senate confirmed the nomination of three appointees to separate public boards.

Antonio Camacho, vice chair of the Commonwealth Ports Authority board of directors, was re-appointed and confirmed to serve four more years in the CPA panel.

Camacho’s previous term expired on June 15, 2005. The CPA board remains with one vacancy despite Camacho’s reappointment, as former member Connie Igisomar has yet to be replaced.

CPA executive director Carlos Salas said Camacho would likely be reinstated as vice chair of the board.

The Senate also confirmed Gov. Juan N. Babauta’s reappointment of Eloise Furey to the NMC Board of Regents, which also serves as the State Board of Regents.

Furey, who holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Humboldt State University in California, will be representing Saipan and the private sector on the board of regents.

For the Civil Service Commission, the Senate confirmed the governor’s May 4 nomination of Leonardo T. Calvo.

Calvo will serve on the commission as a Rota representative. (Agnes E. Donato)
