MARPAC Distributor will host its second edition of the Family Health Fair this Saturday at the Hafa Adai Fiesta Hall as its way of expressing appreciation to the public for their support.

The fair, according to organizers, features various activities that focus on their goal of promoting health and safety awareness among families.

“A healthy family makes a healthy community,” said Theresa Sablan, sales manager for Kimberly-Clark line of products.

The fair will be held from 9am to 3pm and includes booths set up by various agencies and programs that will provide materials and information about various issues that affect the health of families in the Commonwealth.

Mead-Johnson sales manager Jojo Pineda said that more participants have signed up to take part in the event compared to numbers last year and expects a bigger crowd in attendance.

“Last year, it was so successful,” he said. “We had a lot of families and participants joining. This year, we have more participants, more booths, so we’re expecting a bigger crowd.”

In all, about 27 agencies are involved, including the Department of Public Health, HIV/STD Prevention Program, Children’s Developmental Assistance Center, Hardt Eye Clinic, Carmen’s Baby News, and the American Red Cross, among others.

Immunizations will be available, courtesy of DPH.

Organizers also disclosed that the fair will include various games for each member of the family, including toddlers, as well as many giveaways such as diapers, baby wipes, Kleenex facial tissue, and toilet tissue. Special gift packs will also be given to pregnant mothers and babies. Entertainment will be provided by students from various schools, including day care centers.

All participants in the various games will also win a prize regardless of the individual’s or team’s placing.

Also highlighting the event are two grand prizes—a year’s worth of Enfamil and a year’s worth of Huggies Diapers.

All interested in vying for the two prizes must purchase these products at various Joeten outlets and submit an entry form, which will be provided at the establishment. All forms will be collected by 3pm tomorrow.

Also, individuals may have their names in the raffle drawing by visiting all the booths at the fair and getting a certain number of stamps placed on their passbook—to be provided by organizers.

A drawing for the first grand prize will be held in the morning while the other drawing will be held sometime in the afternoon.

“Bring the whole family down,” said Jean Sablan, sales manager for Mead-Johnson and Kimberly-Clark products on Saipan. “It’s a good place to have fun and to bond as a family.”

Family Health Fair, according to Theresa Sablan, was started in Guam 10 years ago in conjunction with Healthy Mother-Healthy Babies program with the Public Health.
