Mandatory Rotary meeting today
Organizers of the 2005 Saipan Rotary Summer Youth Basketball League announced yesterday that a mandatory meeting would be held today at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
League official Elias Rangamar said the meeting would be called to order at 12pm, and advised that all teams must have representatives present as important issues will be discussed.
Rangamar said teams must submit all requirements, such as the $100 entrance fee and age verification documents at the meeting.
He added that the league is now scheduled to tip off on July 7.
With a loaded cast of 18 teams, the league will feature two pools. Teams already confirming their run at this year’s 18-and-under title include the San Antonio Sixers I and II, G-Rollers I, II, and III, Matansa Sparks, Ol’Aces, Tanapag Warriors, Toyota Camry, the Junior National Team, Hoops, Bwibwis, Capitol Hill Breeze, Saipan Southern High School, Saints, and another team from San Antonio. The newest members include Kagman and the G-Super Sonics.
All players listed on the team roster must not turn 19 years old before Sept. 30, 2005.
Organizers stressed that teams failing to pay the entrance fee will not be allowed to play until clearing the requirement.
Last year, guard Paul Macgalas led the Makos in an upset of pennant champion and erstwhile undefeated San Antonio Sixers for the Rotary crown.
