Just desserts

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s chairman, Mr. Francisco Q. Guerrero, previously recommended for the agency to cut off the power it provides to its many consumers because of nonpayment and/or who are delinquent in their respective accounts.

Today, CUC faces a fuel shortage since it continues to fail to meet Mobil’s demand for overdue fuel payments. In fact, as stated in the local papers, the agency is unable to consummate a new contract with the sole bidder for fuel services—Mobil. Worse, Mobil has cut off its fuel supply to the CUC. Ultimately and as fittingly described by the Marianas Variety’s headline news, “With no fuel, there will be no power.”

I guess this is another classic example of what goes around comes around.
