Lawmen would draw their firearms today in a shooting competition that would test their speed and accuracy in firing 9mm handguns.

The shooting competition begins at 8:30am at the Department of Public Safety’s Shooting Range in San Jose.

Dubbed as the Top Gun Competition, the activity forms part of the celebration of Police Week. About 40 participants will join the event, according to competition chair Eric David.

David said the participants are law enforcers from the DPS, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Attorney General’s Investigative Unit, Department of Corrections, and the Customs and Fish and Wildlife divisions.

David said there would be two categories in the competition—individual and team. Shooting range master Ambrosio Ogumoro will brief participants at about 8am.
