25-and-under, Rotary cage meetings tomorrow
Officials of the ongoing BANMI 25-and-under Basketball League and the upcoming Saipan Rotary Club Summer Youth Basketball League will hold important meetings tomorrow at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room.
According to BANMI official Elias Rangamar, all teams must have a representative present at the 25-and-under meeting at 6pm.
Rangamar said the upcoming playoffs format will be the main issue discussed at the meeting, and input from team representatives is mandatory.
Playoffs for the 2005 season is scheduled to begin soon after the completion of several make up games.
Meanwhile, Rangamar said all interested teams for the upcoming 2005 Rotary league must have a coach or team representative present at the 12pm meeting.
The tentative date for the kick off of this year’s season is set for June 20 at the Ada Gym.
Rangamar added that interested teams must begin organizing their squads, securing sponsors, and ordering uniforms. Teams without uniforms at the start of the season will not be eligible to play.

Budweiser Cup possibly this month
Organizers of the BANMI Budweiser Cup Men’s Island-wide League are eying the annual cagefest to kick off sometime this month.
This according to league commissioner Abner Venus, who recently told the Saipan Tribune that interested individuals should begin organizing teams.
Venus said all interested teams must pay an entrance fee of $900, with the first 10 submitting payments getting free uniforms.
Also, Venus said each team can comprise of a maximum of 12 players.
Last year, the Ol’Aces hoisted their second straight Bud Cup title after edging the Angando Brothers. Members of the squad included brothers Peter and Abong Camacho,
Elias Rangamar, Elias Saralu, Alfred Celes, Junior Renguul, and Gabriel White.

San Roque Golf on May 29
San Roque Parish would hold its 11th Annual San Roque Golf Tournament on May 29 at the Marianas Country Club Resort in Marpi.
The tournament will have six flights or divisions, namely Championship Flight, A Flight, B Flight, C Flight, Ladies Flight, and Seniors Flight. The top three players in each flight will receive great prizes from San Roque Parish.
The 11th Annual San Roque Golf Tournament will kick-off with a shotgun start at noon and will have an awards ceremony beginning at 5pm.
Entry fee is $100, which will go to community and church development in the San Roque and As Matuis areas. The donation is inclusive of green fee and cost of renting a golf cart. Refreshments, drinks, and sandwiches will be served to players in the tournament.
There would also be hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin competitions. Hole-in-one prizes include cash prizes, a four-wheeler, and a car. Those interested in joining the closest-to-the-pin contest registration costs $10.
