KAGES PTA MEETING TODAY
Kagman Elementary School would like to inform all parents and legal guardians that there will be a PTA meeting today, May 11, 2005 at 6:30pm in the school cafeteria. All parents and legal guardians are encouraged to attend. Should you have any questions, call 664-3911.
REMINDERS TO FRG MEMBERS
The Echo Company 100th Battalion 442nd Infantry Family Readiness Group is informing all families of its soldiers that Sunday, May 15, is the Volunteers Appreciation Luncheon at the Army Reserve Center, Puerto Rico, Saipan. The event will start at 4pm.
Also, a reminder to all the FRG Leaders that there will be a Leadership Meeting tomorrow, May 12, 7:pm, at the Reserve Center.

UPCOMING SCHOOL EVENTS AT HOPWOOD
May 9-13: Final exams for 8th graders
May 12: PTSA meeting 6-7 pm in the school cafeteria. Mr. Starkey and the students from the E Team have created exhibits to memorialize victims of the Holocaust. Mayor Juan B. Tudela will be present to hand out certificates to those students who participated in the project.
May 16-20: Final exams for 7th graders
May 20: Awards ceremony at the stage area at 1pm
May 24-25: 8th grade promotion practice. Students, bring hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water bottles
May 26: PTSA-sponsored Mass, 9am at Mt. Carmel Cathedral. The PTSA is asking parents to donate $2 per 8th grader, to be used for the expenses of the Mass. Donations should be given to the homeroom teacher, who will give them to the PTSA treasurer.
May 26: Promotion Ceremony, 4pm, HJHS stage area. There will be tents for guests, but students should bring umbrellas.
Please be advised:
1. 8th graders who owe monetary obligations to the school due to unreturned library and/or textbooks will not receive their promotion certificates and will be placed on a “Do Not Admit” list at the high schools until their obligations are cleared.
2. Students who have not completed the required number of units for 7th and 8th grade will not promote. These students have the option of either completing a six-week summer school course designed to suffice for no more than two classes, or repeating 8th grade next school year.
3. Students who have severe discipline problems will still promote, but will not participate in the Promotion Ceremony.
The Hopwood Orientation Team will be going out to the elementary feeder schools the last week of school (May 31-June 3) to give an Orientation Presentation to the 6th grade students. This Orientation Presentation will be made upon the request of the elementary school administration. Saturday, May 30, incoming 7th graders may come to campus for a tour of the school.
