Athletes from Dandan Elementary School and Whispering Palms School put up remarkable performances during Saturday’s McDonald’s All Schools Track and Field Championships, ruling the 9-and-under divisions to take home the championships of the team competition.

Dandan placed first in the boys category, finishing the day with 83 points after netting six gold medals, and two silvers, while placing in the top six two other times.

Tanapag and Koblerville elementary schools placed second and third with 64 and 40 points. TES garnered four silver medals, two bronze, and had three athletes place in the top six, while KES finished with a gold, a silver, two bronze, and three top six finishes.

Spearheading Dandan’s charge was Poland Masaharu, who struck gold in the 100m and 200m sprints and the softball throw, while anchoring his team to a first place finish in the 4X100m relay.

He first ran like the wind in the 100m, clocking in at 16.35 seconds, while teammate Jeremy Rabauliman and McCoy Santos placed second and third with times of 16.60 and 16.63.

Masaharu made it known that he was the fastest after completing the sprint sweep in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 35.12 seconds. Santos took the silver in 36.85, while Sean Rabasto of William S. Reyes Elementary School grabbed the bronze in 36.92.
