Do you think you have the best tasting ribs on island? Show us what you’ve got and bring your barbeque skills to the BBQ Competition, which will be held at the Taste of the Marianas on May 14, from 6pm to 8pm.

All ingredients, mixing bowls, utensils, platter for ribs presentation, and butane gas stove (if participants would like to boil their meat) should be brought to the site by all participants.

All participants will be provided meat, charcoal and a BBQ grill. There is a registration fee of $5 and registration forms are available at the MVA Office.

Entries are limited to the first 10 individuals who sign-up. Participants will be judged on taste, originality, presentation, and cooking time.

First place winner will get $100; second place, $75; and third place, $50.

This BBQ Competition will take place at the 2005 Taste of the Marianas grounds (near the Bell Tower). All participants must meet at the site by 6pm on Saturday, May 14, 2005. Competition promptly begins at 6:15pm.

All participants must read the rules for this competition and fill out an official entry form and pay the $5 to MVA Accounting Office no later than Wednesday, May 11, 2005. There are no refunds after payment is made. Participants must fill out a waiver form prior to the competition. If there is no waiver form filled out, MVA coordinators have the right to eliminate participants from the competition.

If you got what it takes to barbeque those ribs, contact MVA, attention Polly Deleon Guerrero at 664-3200/01.
