MAY PEPSI KING AND QUEEN OF THE LANES STARTS SUNDAY
The Pepsi King and Queen of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament will return for its monthly roll-off this Sunday and Monday, May 8 and 9, at the Capital Bowling Center.
The May edition of the bowlfest will have a 4pm start on Sunday and a 6pm start on Monday and is exclusive to members of the Saipan Bowling Association.
SBA officer and tournament director Ross Zapanta said participants have the option to bowl on the Sunday or Monday, or on both days, provided that the $15 entry fee is paid. Bowlers who did not bowl on Sunday will be given priority for the Monday shift.
He also said the number of bowlers will be limited to 72 players on Sunday and 56 on Monday. Only the higher score will count for the tournament.

BUDWEISER CUP POSSIBLY OPENS THIS MONTH
Organizers of the BANMI Budweiser Cup Men’s Island-wide League are eying the annual cagefest to kick off sometime this month.
This according to league commissioner Abner Venus, who recently told the Saipan Tribune that interested individuals should begin organizing teams.
Venus said all interested teams must pay an entrance fee of $900, with the first 10 submitting payments getting free uniforms.
Also, Venus said each team can comprise of a maximum of 12 players.
Last year, the Ol’Aces hoisted their second straight Bud Cup title after edging the Angando Brothers. Members of the squad included brothers Peter and Abong Camacho,
Elias Rangamar, Elias Saralu, Alfred Celes, Junior Renguul, and Gabriel White.

WOMEN’S CLASSIFICATION TOURNEY ROLLS OFF MAY 15
The inaugural Women’s Classification Tournament has been rescheduled to May 15 at the Saipan Bowling Center.
The competition, organized by the Women’s Thursday Night League, was originally set for last month and then reset for April before finally being moved to the 15th day of this month.
Thursday Night League president Lucy S. Deleon Guerrero said the first-ever Women’s Classification Tournament is being held in celebration of Women’s History Month last March.
The tournament is expected to kick off at 9am and will feature three divisions-A Division, B Division, and C Division.
Players will see action a four-game roll-off with the top three for each division advancing to the playoffs that will determine the divisions’ “Bowler of the Year.”
The women’s bowling officer also said cash prizes await the top three winners for each division, while fourth to fifth placers will go home with in-kind prizes.
