The 7th annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival and Beer Garden will kick off tomorrow evening at American Memorial Park.

Eleven hotels and restaurants will participate in the event, serving different types of cuisine from 6pm to 10pm every Saturday during the month of May.

These are Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Saipan World Resort, Capricciosa and Tony Roma’s, Herman’s Modern Bakery, Poon’s Restaurant, Thai House Restaurant, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach, Champ’s, Ty & Tia, and D’Elegance.

“The Taste of the Marianas is an event that both visitors to the island, and local residents alike always look forward to every year. This year’s event promises to be an even more exciting venue that will highlight the many culinary talents of the CNMI people, ” MVA managing director Vicky Benavente said in a news release.

Aside from showcasing the exotic and traditional dishes native to the Marianas, the food festival will also offer a variety of free entertainment in a village-type atmosphere, MVA said.

The local talents who will be performing on the kick-off night include Amber Mendiola, Tipiyeew Dancers, Tipiyeew Band, and the Local Boys.

Performances are scheduled to start at 6:30pm.

The Taste of the Marianas is an annual event started in 1999 as part of the Visit the Marianas Campaign.
