The United Filipino Organization said yesterday it invited some government officials to witness the induction of its officers at the Aqua Resort Club on Sunday.

UFO president Roland Pamintuan said the group has invited Saipan Mayor Juan Borja Tudela as special guest to the event, which would be held at the hotel’s Rey Lounge beginning 6:30pm.

Other special guests include Superior Court judge Juan T. Lizama, House Vice Speaker Timothy Villagomez, Philippine consul general Wilfredo Maximo, consul Wenceslao Gayola, former Philippine Labor attaché Araceli Maraya, and lawyer Reynaldo Yana.

Besides Pamintuan, the new set of officers also includes Wilfredo Ching, Socorro Borja, and Romeo Malasarte, vice presidents for administration, internal and external, respectively; Raquel Miranda, secretary; Olive Yana, assistant secretary; Apollo Madriaga, treasurer; Flor Miranda, assistant treasurer; Anamae Awit, auditor; and Heidee Eugenio and Rose Guirit, public relations officers.

Outgoing UFO president Nelida Atalig will serve as chairman of the UFO’s advisory council. Incumbent officers, as well as members of the UFO’s advisory council and board, will be sworn in during the induction ceremony.

UFO serves an umbrella group of about 24 Filipino organizations in the CNMI.
