SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT TODAY

The Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Section will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint today, May 6.
The setup will be on 2W Chalan Laolao by Verizon. This operation will begin at about 10pm and will be terminated at 11:15pm.
The checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour 15 minutes).
This activity is part of the DPS’ efforts to deter and detect impaired drivers and ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.

WOMEN’S EXHIBIT TO OPEN TODAY

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs’ Office of the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Cultures and the Women’s Affairs Office will host the annual International Women’s Exhibit scheduled to open today, May 6, 2005 through June 3, 2005 at the CNMI Gallery for Arts and Culture. This exhibit will feature works created by all the women in the CNMI.

BAR EXAMINATIONS SET

The Commonwealth Bar Examinations are scheduled to be administered on July 27 and 18, 2005. The essay exam will be on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 and the Multistate Bar Examination will be on Thursday, July 28, 2005. All interested applicants can obtain the application form and necessary information on http://www.justice.gov.mp or by calling 236-9800 or by writing to the Director of Court/Bar Administrator at P.O. Box 502165, Saipan, MP 96950.
All applications and required fees must be submitted to the Director of Court/Bar Administrator no later than May 31, 2005.

ENGLISH PLACEMENT TEST ON MONDAY

The Northern Marianas College will be administering the English Placement Test on Monday, May 16, at RM: D-1, from 1pm to 4pm.
Test-takers should bring a valid photo ID and pencils.
There is a $25 fee for the English Placement Test that must be paid in advance at NMC’s Finance Office (Monday to Friday, 9am–4pm).
Students will not be admitted to the testing room without proof of payment: a receipt for either the placement test fee or the NMC application fee. This $25 fee is applicable to the NMC application for all students.

KAGMAN HIGH SCHOOL CULTURAL DAY

This is to inform the parents/legal guardians and the general public that Kagman High School will be having their Cultural Day on Saturday, May 7, from 8am to 3pm at Kagman High School campus. You’re invited to join the Kagman High School community in celebrating Cultural Heritage Day.

CHACHA OCEANVIEW PTSA MEETING

This is to inform all parents, guardians, and the general public that the Chacha Oceanview Jr. High School will be having a Parents Teachers Students Association meeting next week, May 12, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. We will be discussing matters such as the eighth-grade promotion ceremony, mid-quarter progress report distribution, schedule for the last day of school and others. Registration at the Sister Remedios Early Childhood Development Center School for the coming school year 2005-2006 is now open and ongoing.
