Tinian celebrates International Women’s Day
A night of entertainment and camaraderie among women of different nationalities was recently held on Tinian.
The 5th International Women’s Day Celebration, founded by Community Outreach Program coordinator Bernie DLG San Nicolas, was held at Kammer Beach Main Pavilion in honor of all women of the world.
The theme for this year’s event “Weaving a World That Works” was a unique experience for the 210 women in attendance.
As part of that experience, women were called to a weaving dream area called the “Sacred Place Circle,” where women come and weave their dreams as women or weave their memories of yesterday into the potencies of today, thus co-creating the “new fabric” of tomorrow.
Awards made from Glass Etching Plaques were presented to women who have made a difference in the community, their family or the lives of others.
