The youngsters of the Saipan Little League Baseball Association will soon have to share their home field at the Oleai Sports Complex, as the organizers of the Island Wide Slow Pitch Softball League have begun preparing for the coming of the 2005 edition of underhanded arcs by calling a meeting this evening.

According to the association president Robert A. Guerrero, all of the teams who are interested in returning to the Oleai Sports Complex for a shot at the 2005 championships need to act fast, as there will only be 10 teams permitted this time around.

Teams will have their first opportunity to join the 2005 action tonight when the SSA will host an organizational meeting in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium in Oleai at 6:30pm.

Last season, slugger Mel Sakisat lit up pitchers in both the fast and slow pitch leagues en route to taking home nine individual awards—including the regular season’s most valuable player for both leagues.

In the fast pitch league, Sakisat led all hitters in runs scored (28), doubles (14), homeruns (10), runs batted in (41), and tied one other for triples (6). The only category in which he lost out was the overall batting average, but the 2005 titles will be up for grabs. For more information, contact Robert A. Guerrero by calling 287-8093 or 235-1580, or Piding Tenorio by calling 322-1213.
